Beginning with the age-old principle that one learns best by doing, No Better Way to Learn utilized real-life museum experiences supplemented with sound museum theory. The project was rooted in the premise that the most effective training opportunities are those in which practical and immediate application can be made. Unlike static classroom models, experiential learning presses museum personnel into directly applying their new found knowledge, thus altering their ongoing operations and improving overall professionalism.
This project's key objectives were to:
- Provide practical training to museums in specific areas of acute need.
- Emphasize basic principles of museum professionalism.
- Utilize and develop professional museum resources within the state.
- Establish informal networks among Utah museums to facilitate routine resource sharing.
